The Effects of Art and Craft Program on Cognition and Visual Motor of the Mild Dementia

Abstract
|

|
Objective : The purpose of this study was to know the effects of the are and craft programmes on the cognitive and visual motor of mild dementia case.
Methods : We devided 16 people of mild dementia into 8 people as an experimental group and 8 people as a control group. We conducted general Occupation Therapy for Control group and, general Occupation Therapy and art and craft program for Experimental group. This program was conducted every week for 8 weeks. And it took 50 minutes per one experiment. We estimated the change of cognition ability and visual motor ability before program and after program using MOCA-K and TVMS.
Results : MOCA-K measurements of the experimental and control groups, no significant cognitive changes did not appear significant change in the pre and post test and control groups respectively, between the two groups. However visual motor skills a check through the TVMS was found to have significant changes between the two groups of test and control
groups showed a significant change in the pre and post of each group.
Conclusion : Art and Craft program is thought to be helpful in maintaining and improving visual motor of mild dementia. Therefore, I would suggest the art craft program for mild dementia.
